Job Title: Hospital Dishwasher Food Service Department
Job Description
This role focuses on washing, sanitizing, and transporting dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support a clean, safe, and efficient food service operation within a children's hospital. You will play an important part in maintaining high sanitation standards and ensuring that meals are served safely and on time in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Wash and thoroughly sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, and other kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and safe food service environment.
Follow established sanitation and safety procedures at all times while handling both clean and dirty dishes.
Transport clean dishes and equipment to appropriate areas within the hospital food service department.
Collect and transport dirty dishes and used equipment from various hospital locations back to the kitchen for cleaning.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in dishwashing and kitchen work areas throughout the shift.
Operate dishwashing equipment and tools safely and efficiently according to department guidelines.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting time requirements for dish turnover and kitchen support.
Collaborate with food service staff and other team members to ensure smooth and timely meal service.
Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors.
Adhere to all hospital and department policies related to hygiene, safety, and infection control.
Essential Skills Experience with dishwashing and sanitation procedures in a kitchen or food service environment.
Ability to work nights and weekends as part of a set schedule.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement and time-sensitive tasks.
Ability to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
Professional and friendly attitude when working with others.
Reliability and consistency in following safety and sanitation protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred.
Experience in hospital or healthcare food service is a plus.
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist where needed in the kitchen.
Good communication skills to coordinate with food service staff and follow instructions accurately.

Work Environment
This position is based in the Food Service Department of a children's hospital. The role involves standing for approximately 8 hours per shift and working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment with dishwashing equipment and standard food service tools. The regular schedule includes Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Mondays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to hospital hygiene and infection control standards, with staff expected to maintain a neat, professional appearance appropriate for a healthcare food service setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Glendale, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.97 - $18.97/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
