Job description
Distribution Systems TechResponsible for performing a wide range of operations, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on distribution piping systems in tunnels, trenches, manholes and in customer premises. Required skills include the site-specific combination of pipefitting, fabricating, excavation, and welding. Equipment maintenance knowledge should include all relevant distribution and customer-sited equipment.Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:This position requires technical aptitude to be able to assist or perform maintenance/operational tasks as required.Perform tasks such as welding, fabricating, and troubleshooting steam system piping and related systemsPerforms locates of pipeline and associated underground facilitiesRepair pipeline, such as condensate traps, valves, and expansion jointsPerform weekly/monthly meter readings at customer locationsAbility to prioritize Safety over productionOrganize parts inventory for equipment at multiple sites and distribution systemAbility to interact and communicate with contractors or customers of Cordia.Provide day-to-day communication to supervisor with respect to projects and condition of equipmentEstablishes the highest standards of business conduct, discipline, and ethical behavior to ensure continuing compliance with company policies and proceduresHelp locate and repair or minimize leaks in the distribution systemRequirements:Knowledge & SkillsExperience with steam and chilled waterExcellent communications skills including written, verbal, and motivationalAbility to coordinate numerous activities under stress with poise, safely and successfullyPossess an excellent working knowledge of operations and maintenance for efficient and effective productionWelding Experience preferred, specifically Arc welding on pipeExperience & Education:Minimum of one years' experience in plant operations, maintenance, or engineeringMinimum one year's experience in district energyValid state driver's licenseCompletion of formal steam plant operations training, licensure, or certification program is preferredWelding Certification or formal welding trainingWorking Conditions:Normal plant environment and/or out of doors work environment.
