District Court Coordinator$56,148.00 - $67,386.00Full timeUnder general direction, is responsible for maintaining dockets for the District Courts; overseeing notification of all parties involved in criminal case settings; developing and implementing procedures in the disposition of District Court cases, and performing related duties as required.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains the master docket for District Courts and prepares the monthly, weekly, and daily dockets for the courtSets and oversees special dockets for revocation of probation hearings, pleas of guilty, all pre-trial matters, and sentencingAttends and assists the court in calling dockets to get announcements and resetting cases for dateOversees notification to attorneys, defendants, bondsmen, and probation officers on criminal case settingsDevelops and implements efficient procedures on dockets and case flow to enable fair and speedy disposition in all District Court casesPerforms related duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a closely related field and three (3) years of court operations or administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceGood knowledge of court procedures and case flow management; knowledge of indigency requirementsSkill in communicating effectively with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals; skill in analyzing legal information; proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft XP Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and OutlookAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to operate a personal computer and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, judges, attorneys, outside organizations, the news media, and the publicMust secure and maintain valid Texas Certification in Trial Court Management within two years after employmentMust secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearanceMust clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen testRequired to be on-call 24-hours a dayMay be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekWorking Environment and Physical Demands:Generally working in indoor conditionsOccasionally moves items weighing up to 25 poundsOccasionally moves about the officeFrequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate informationGenerally operates a computer and other office productivity machineryPositions self to perform essential functionsMust be able to remain in a stationary positionBexar County offers employees a competitive salary, retirement, and benefits.
