Role Overview
A District Manager is responsible for growing and maintaining a portfolio of wines within their assigned territory. They develop relationships across the three-tier system, including distributor personnel and trade accounts, to drive sales and brand awareness. The role involves training and inspiring distributors, hosting events, and executing market activities to promote the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting brand and wine presentations at general sales meetings and hosting relationship-building events.
Assisting in planning quarterly brand activities and preparing business reviews aligned with sales goals.
Working with distributors to meet sales targets, monitor inventory, and support new placements.
Engaging in sales calls to trade accounts, identifying new opportunities, and maintaining existing relationships.
Hosting consumer events such as wine festivals or dinners.
Collaborating with distributor sales teams to prioritize sales efforts.
Developing wine knowledge, identifying growth opportunities, and communicating effectively with management and trade partners.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience in wine sales, preferably with Italian wines.
Passion for wine, strong industry knowledge, and willingness to work flexible hours and travel within the territory.
Ability to lift 35 lbs, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel to Italy and corporate headquarters.
Adaptability, creativity, and strong communication skills essential for success.
