Division Chief – Pediatric Pulmonology
Location: Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Division Chief to build a pediatric pulmonology program in a leading academic medical center, leading and expanding clinical, educational, and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership with an entrepreneurial mindset suited to program development in an academic setting.
Build and lead a new Pulmonology Division within the Department of Pediatrics, establishing clinical programs, workflows, and infrastructure.
Recruit one additional pediatric pulmonologist to support growth.
Be responsible and accountable for clinical and academic performance, including faculty mentorship.
Demonstrate a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to excellence in clinical care, research, innovation, and academic service.
Be comfortable with the challenges and opportunities of building programs within an urban and diverse academic environment.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
Eligible to be licensed to practice Medicine in Illinois required.
Completion of an accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship program.
Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology.
Hold credentials meriting an Associate Professor or Professor faculty appointment.
Demonstrate ongoing research achievement, community engagement, and educational excellence.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $297,000 - $393,000.
Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, incentive programs, sign‑on bonus, retention bonus, relocation allowance, and opportunities for additional compensation based on performance.
