Bilingual skills welcome.Position Overview: IDOC is looking to hire an Office Assistant to serve as a receptionist and keyboard a variety of difficult material. In addition, this position will open, date stamp, sort and distribute mail, and mail screening notification packets. If you are detail oriented and can multi-task, this position is for you. We strongly encourage all qualified individuals to apply.Essential Functions: Serves as a receptionist. Keyboards a variety of difficult material including records, reports, correspondence and other documents. Opens, date stamps, sorts, and distributes mail. Mails screening notification packets. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience. Requires the ability to keyboard 35 words per minute.Conditions of Employment: Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
