Role Overview
We are seeking a Donor Experience & Engagement Manager to lead how donors connect with, support, and grow within our organization. This role goes beyond traditional fundraising by owning the full donor journey from first gift to long term, high value support.
You will work across fundraising and marketing to design meaningful donor experiences, improve retention, and create clear pathways for donors to deepen their impact.
This is a revenue driving role focused on growing donor impact and long term support
What You’ll Own
Donor Growth & Journey
Shape and manage the donor journey from initial gift through long-term engagement
Build pathways that move donors from one-time giving to recurring and higher levels of support
Identify and engage donors with strong potential for increased giving
Donor Experience
Design thoughtful, consistent donor experiences across campaigns, events, and communications on a quarterly basis
Ensure every donor interaction feels intentional, personal, and aligned with our mission
Build systems for follow-up, stewardship, and ongoing engagement
Revenue & Giving Strategy
Support growth in overall donor revenue through retention and upgrades
Work with leadership on engaging and cultivating high-impact donors
Build and grow the Monthly Recurring Revenue stream
Advanced Giving
Support and grow non-traditional giving channels, including Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), stock and non-cash donations such as crypto, future giving options, and endowment giving
Help simplify and communicate these options to donors
Marketing Collaboration
Partner with marketing to align campaigns with donor journeys
Ensure strong calls to action and clear next steps for donors
Provide insights on what messaging and strategies drive giving
Data & Optimization
Use data to improve donor strategies and overall performance
Maintain strong organization within the CRM and donor systems
Who You Are
You understand how donors think and what motivates them to give
You are both strategic and hands-on, comfortable building systems and executing outreach
You are data-informed and use insights to improve results
You are comfortable engaging donors directly and building relationships across multiple channels - phone, email, and face-to-face
You have working knowledge of higher-level giving, including DAFs and stock donations
Qualifications
4 to 7 years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or growth-related roles
Experience working with donor data and CRMs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with donor lifecycle strategy and retention
Exposure to digital campaigns or marketing
Compensation & Requirements
Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000
Hybrid / Remote, Full-Time position
Up to 35% travel required
