Job description

Physical Therapist for Acute Care

Imagine a career where each day brings the opportunity to impact lives profoundly. As a dedicated Physical Therapist, you will play an essential role, aiding individuals as they take their first brave steps after surgery, regain their independence post-stroke, or reclaim their voice following illness. In moments of vulnerability, you will not just facilitate recovery but instill hope, dignity, and vitality in your patients' journeys. And you'll do all of this in an environment that celebrates the blend of professionalism, community connection, and personal growth.

Conduct evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for patients in both inpatient and outpatient arenas. Implement physical therapy interventions aimed at improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall function. Collaborate seamlessly with nursing staff, physicians, case managers, and fellow rehabilitation professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate patients and their families about therapy goals, create effective discharge plans, and guide home exercise programs. Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and patient progress per departmental and regulatory standards. Engage actively in interdisciplinary rounds, contributing to cohesive and coordinated patient care.

A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or a comparable degree from an accredited institution. Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist. CPR certification preferred. Additional specialized certifications (e.g., neurological, geriatric) are advantageous but not essential.

Previous clinical experience is highly favored. Proficient in treating patients with intricate medical and mobility challenges. Exceptional communication and collaborative teamwork abilities. Familiarity with digital charting and clinical documentation systems is required.

Competitive compensation package that recognizes your skills and dedication. Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance. Opportunities for continuing education and support for licensure reimbursement. Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling options. A nurturing team culture that encourages professional development and advancement.

Each day opens a new chapter, offering a tapestry of experiences that matter. You will stand at the forefront of recovery, guiding patients as they navigate their pathways to restored strength and independence—whether by aiding a post-surgical patient in regaining balance or supporting someone through the determined steps of stroke recovery. This role is deeply impactful, requiring a mix of clinical expertise and heartfelt care. In your position, you will evaluate patient needs, implement personalized treatment plans, and refine care as recovery progresses. As a vital member of a collaborative healthcare team, your contributions will also be significant in planning safe discharges and ensuring smooth transitions to home care. The responsibility is significant, and the rewards are immense.

Your professional journey may be grounded within clinical walls, yet your life in Boston will stretch across vibrant neighborhoods filled with rich history, cultural allure, and abundant opportunity. From the iconic Freedom Trail to the tranquil beauty of Boston Common, this city is a melting pot of diverse experiences. Locals enjoy wandering the bustling streets, indulging in world-class cuisine, or catching an impromptu concert in the park. The atmosphere here pulsates with creativity, innovation, and a spirited community vibe that draws people in. Moreover, Boston offers practical benefits such as a robust educational system, access to world-renowned museums, and a mixture of urban life complemented by picturesque waterfront spots. Whether you're drawn to lively festivals, historic sites, or serene walking paths along the Charles River, you'll discover that this city brims with character.

You are more than just your qualifications; you embody an understanding that movement is key to healing, kindness alters outcomes, and every small step in recovery matters. We seek a Physical Therapist who combines clinical expertise with emotional intelligence, capable of flourishing in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting. Whether you are newly minted in your career or a seasoned professional, if you hold values of evidence-based practice, partnership, and authentic human connection close to your heart, we would be delighted to connect with you.
