Description
Conduct evaluations for patients in either inpatient or outpatient categories and develop personalized treatment strategies
Deliver physical therapy treatments aimed at improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall function
Work in collaboration with nurses, physicians, case managers, and other rehabilitation specialists to maximize patient outcomes
Provide education to patients and their families on therapeutic objectives, planning for discharge, and at-home exercise regimens
Record evaluations, treatments, and patient progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Engage in care team discussions and interdisciplinary meetings to ensure cohesive patient care
Education
Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or an equivalent accredited degree
Certifications
State licensure as a Physical Therapist
CPR certification is preferred
Additional specialized certifications (for instance, neurological or geriatric) are advantageous but not necessary
Skills
Preferred previous experience in the field
Ability to address patients with diverse medical and mobility challenges
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Proficiency with digital charting and clinical record systems
