Job Description
Driveline Systems Engineer
ND Defense builds military and commercial vehicles, from tactical wheeled vehicles to heavy trucks. In this role, you'll take on driveline work across several vehicle programs, with a mix of design, hands‑on prototype support, and day‑to‑day problem‑solving. No two weeks look the same, and the people who thrive here are comfortable shifting priorities without losing track of the details.
What You'll Do
Work on driveline systems — including electric and hybrid drive components — for new vehicles and platform upgrades
Juggle multiple programs and supplier relationships as priorities shift
Tackle tough packaging, durability, and torsional problems that don't have a textbook answer
Help shape how we document and standardize driveline engineering, since our processes are still evolving
Get out on the shop floor during builds and testing to solve real fit and assembly issues
Bring curiosity for AI tools to speed up your day‑to‑day work
We're Looking For
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or something related
3 or more years of experience in driveline, powertrain, or chassis engineering — automotive, defense, or heavy vehicle background all work
Comfort reading and working with 3D CAD (Creo, NX, CATIA, or similar)
Bonus if you know your way around transmissions, driveshafts, transfer cases, axles, wheel ends, or tires
An interest in AI tools is a plus — not required to walk in the door with it
Applicants must be U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident/Green Card Holder)
ND Defense LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
