Job description
Help shape advanced AI models for drug discovery by bringing hands-on pharmacology, DMPK/ADME, and toxicology expertise to scientific research and model evaluation. This part-time, remote opportunity supports foundational AI models for science and may place you with a leading AI lab’s extended workforce.
Key Responsibilities Guide research and engineering teams in closing knowledge gaps and improving model performance across mechanism of action, target and cellular pharmacology, ADME/Tox, and PK/PD.
Design challenging, non-searchable drug discovery tasks, benchmarks, and training data, with accurate, well-structured solutions for topics such as assay interpretation, compound liabilities, and optimization strategy.
Evaluate AI outputs and step-by-step reasoning, identify issues in scientific logic, tool use, and factual accuracy, and provide clear written technical feedback.
Create specifications, grading rubrics, and verification processes for drug discovery data produced by external technical teams; serve as the domain authority for data quality.
Advise on assay design, quality control, experimental failure modes, and the biological and pharmacological validity of model outputs.
Collaborate with other subject-matter experts to maintain consistent, accurate training data.
Qualifications PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, DMPK, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research experience.
At least 3 years of early-to-mid-stage drug discovery, pharmacology, DMPK/ADME, or toxicology experience at a recognized pharmaceutical company, biotech company, contract research organization, or academic drug discovery group.
Hands-on experience analyzing experimental drug discovery data, including in vitro ADME and safety assays, PK/PD studies, CRO assay readouts, or LC-MS bioanalysis, and using findings to guide compound decisions.
Comfort using PK/PD or data-analysis software and scientific AI tools. Coding is not required.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
Preferred experience includes PK/PD or ADME modeling, developing grading rubrics, designing benchmark tasks, or evaluating scientific AI models.
Work Terms Remote, available to candidates based in London, UK, or the US East Coast.
Part-time hourly engagement requiring reliable weekday availability of at least 20 hours per week.
Engagement is through an employing entity that manages employment, payroll, benefits, and compliance, with potential placement on a client research team.
Compensation Hourly compensation of $70 to $100.
