We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. We operate out of four separate 501c(3) nonprofit companies and have locations across 7 states. Our mission is supporting individuals and families in achieving optimum growth, independence, and joy. The DSP position, titled Habilitation Specialist, functions in a broad capacity to serve our residents while supporting our residential and operational needs.What You Will DoProvide supervision, program implementation and documentation surrounding the daily living needs and routines for assigned childrenAssist children with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, feeding, toileting and personal hygiene needsEngage children in activities that support the goals of their Individual Support Plan and ensure they achieve maximum levels of independenceMaintain a valid IL driver's license and provide DCFS approved transportation services for medical appointments and field tripsSupport residential operations through mandatory overtime shifts as neededPosition RequirementsMust be 21 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or equivalent education.A Valid IL Driver's License & ability to qualify as a DCFS driverSuccessful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.Lift, push, pull and/or carry 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl and run.Ability to work weekends and mandatory overtimeWhat We PreferExperience working with people with developmental disabilities.Enthusiasm for working with childrenWhat You Will GetTwo weeks of paid classroom trainingPaid holidays, sick days, vacation days, and paid leave days each year.Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.Short & long term disability.Employee and Dependent Tuition reimbursement401(k), Match & Profit ShareHope is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
