These services include: Walk-Ins, Routine Care, Emergency Care, Urgent Care, Canine Blood Donation Program, and our Service Dog Registry Program. The culture at PAW Health Network is loyal, laid back, enjoyable, and supportive to one another!Job DescriptionWe're looking for:1st through 4th Year Veterinary StudentsCompassionate, Team Player and Strong CommunicatorVeterinary students looking to enhance their education through real world experiencesPAW Health Network is seeking motivated DVM students to join our veterinary team in Kronenwetter for a comprehensive externship program. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a professional veterinary healthcare setting while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff. As a DVM Student Extern, you will apply your foundational veterinary knowledge in a real-world clinical environment, develop practical skills, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures under direct supervisionPerform routine clinical tasks including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and basic laboratory workObserve and participate in surgical procedures, dental work, and other specialized veterinary servicesMaintain accurate and detailed medical records using veterinary practice management systemsCommunicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care and treatment optionsDemonstrate proper animal handling and restraint techniques in a safe and humane mannerSupport the clinical team in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environmentParticipate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skillsAdhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirementsContribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes animal welfare and client satisfactionQualificationsMust be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.Additional InformationWe offer our Veterinary Student Externs:Flexible SchedulingPaid Externship Hours or Stipend Opportunities for Technician StudentsFuture Employment Opportunity PreferencesPeer Coaching – DVM's and other experienced Technicians1:1 Mentorship and GuidanceWE ARE A DRUG-FREE, SMOKE-FREE, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
