Dyno TechnicianLocation: Santa Clarita, CA Pay Rate: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour Experience: 1-3 YearsA premier motorsports organization is seeking a motivated Dyno Technician to support engine and powertrain development, validation, and testing activities. This hands-on role is responsible for operating dynamometer test equipment, preparing engines and test cells, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient testing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on automotive experience, and a passion for high-performance engines, racing, and advanced automotive technology.Key Responsibilities:Operate engine dynamometers and related test equipment to support engine development, validation, and performance testing programs.Perform engine and powertrain installation, removal, test setup, and test-cell changeovers.Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation, sensors, fixtures, and test equipment.Execute test procedures while monitoring engine performance, data quality, and testing operations.Collect and verify test data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with engineering requirements.Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on dynamometer systems and test-cell equipment.Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues to minimize downtime.Maintain accurate test records, maintenance logs, calibration documentation, and engine history files.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and testing consistency.Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to support powertrain development goals.Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.Qualifications Required:High school diploma or GED.1-3 years of hands-on automotive, engine, powertrain, mechanical, or related technical experience.Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on engines, vehicles, or powertrain systems.Ability to safely operate equipment and follow testing procedures in a fast-paced environment.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and instructions.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Preferred Experience:Experience with engine dynamometers, chassis dynamometers, or automotive testing equipment.Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, and test-cell operations.Automotive Technology degree, technical certificate, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience.Experience supporting engine development, validation, durability, or performance testing programs.Knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and powertrain components.Motorsport, racing, performance engine, or high-performance automotive experience.Familiarity with data review, diagnostics, and test result analysis.Why Join Us?Work alongside industry-leading engineers and technicians in a world-class motorsports environment.
