International Housekeeper/Property Caretaker PositionAn international couple is seeking a reliable and discreet French-speaking Housekeeper/Property Caretaker for their pied-à-terre on the Upper East Side. The apartment is located in a secure building with a doorman and elevator attendant.The position offers guaranteed weekly pay equivalent to 5 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that can fit around other work commitments. In practice, the apartment will generally require attention once every two weeks while the principals are away.When the principals are away, the schedule is flexible and the apartment will generally need to be checked once every two weeks. The individual will air out and refresh the apartment, perform light housekeeping, inspect for maintenance concerns, and confirm that essential household systems are working properly. This may include checking the Wi-Fi connection, appliances, and any batteries that require replacement. They will ensure the home remains secure, fully operational, and ready for the principals' arrival.The ideal candidate is observant, proactive, organized, and able to communicate any concerns promptly.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the apartment remains in excellent conditionAir out, dust, refresh, and maintain the residenceInspect for leaks, water stains, pests, or other potential issuesMeet maintenance professionals at the residence, provide access, and oversee scheduled service appointmentsConfirm that appliances and essential household systems are functioning properlyCheck the Wi-Fi connection and report any connectivity issuesPrepare the apartment before the principals' arrivalChange linens and ensure bedrooms and bathrooms are readyRun errands and assist with general domestic needsReturn the apartment to its usual condition following each departureQualificationsPrior private-household, housekeeping, or property-care experienceIntelligent, observant, and capable of working independentlyHighly organized, dependable, and detail-orientedProactive, with strong judgment and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skillsExperience working around valuable artwork and high-end furnishingsStrong understanding of privacy and discretionRequirementsFluency in FrenchLegal authorization to work in the United StatesWillingness to complete a background checkFlexibility to provide additional support when the principals are in New YorkComfortable following the access and security procedures of a private buildingSalary and Benefits$60+ per hourMinimum of 5 hours of pay guaranteed per week with a flexible scheduleLate September or early October start date; flexible for the right candidate
