Job description

E-Commerce Manager Location: In-Person | Old Town Scottsdale, AZ

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Old Town Scottsdale office.

About Us Sleepyhead is one of the fastest-growing brands in the sleep industry — recently named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. We’re a modern, Scottsdale-based e-commerce company shaking up the college sleep market with our premium mattress toppers and sleep essentials. Known for our high-performance products, data-driven marketing, and strong brand identity, Sleepyhead has built a loyal following of students, parents, and young adults who love better sleep (and better design).

The Opportunity We are hiring a hands-on E-Commerce Manager to help scale Sleepyhead’s e-commerce operations, with a primary focus on Shopify, website optimization, and the customer shopping experience.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to grow an online store, optimize conversion, and connect e-commerce performance with inventory, manufacturing, and product availability. You should be comfortable managing day-to-day operations while identifying opportunities to increase revenue, improve efficiency, and drive profitable growth.

Manufacturing experience is required. You should understand how production timelines, supplier communication, inventory planning, and product availability impact e-commerce performance. You’ll also work closely with our Amazon Manager to coordinate promotions, product launches, inventory planning, and channel strategies to ensure a consistent omnichannel approach.

This is a hands-on, in-person role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where execution, ownership, and attention to detail matter.

What You’ll Own Shopify & Website Optimization Manage and optimize the Shopify storefront, product pages, and overall customer shopping experience

Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value (AOV), bundling, and upsell performance

Execute website updates, promotions, product launches, and merchandising changes

Monitor site performance and identify opportunities to improve the mobile experience and checkout flow

Support conversion rate optimization (CRO) testing and implement improvements based on performance data

Use analytics and AI tools to identify opportunities, streamline workflows, and improve e-commerce performance

Manufacturing, Inventory & Product Coordination Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers on production timelines, product availability, and order updates

Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to support demand planning and replenishment

Align product launches, promotions, and sales forecasts with manufacturing capacity and inventory availability

Track production and fulfillment timelines to help prevent stockouts and minimize operational disruptions

Identify and communicate inventory risks or manufacturing delays that could affect sales and the customer experience

Collaborate with marketing, operations, and leadership to ensure e-commerce plans align with product availability and business priorities

Omnichannel Coordination Work closely with the Amazon Manager to align product launches, promotions, pricing strategies, and inventory planning across Shopify and Amazon

Help ensure messaging, product positioning, and promotional calendars remain consistent across sales channels

Coordinate inventory availability and sales forecasts to support a unified omnichannel strategy

Share performance insights and identify opportunities to improve the overall customer shopping experience across channels

Retention & Promotional Execution Support email and SMS marketing efforts through platforms such as Klaviyo and Postscript

Coordinate website promotions with email, SMS, and broader marketing campaigns

Align promotional calendars with inventory levels, product launches, and business priorities

Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and customer lifetime value

Performance & Reporting Track key e-commerce metrics, including:

Conversion rate

Average order value (AOV)

Revenue and sales performance

Contribution margin and profitability

Inventory availability and sell-through

Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and growth opportunities

Prepare regular performance updates and recommend actionable improvements

Use data to prioritize initiatives that drive profitable growth rather than vanity metrics

Who You Are 3–5+ years of experience in e-commerce, ideally with a direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand

Required: Experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, or production teams , including familiarity with production timelines, inventory planning, or product sourcing

Strong Shopify experience, including storefront management, product merchandising, and website optimization

Amazon Seller Central experience preferred

Familiarity with e-commerce analytics, conversion optimization, and performance reporting

Experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platforms preferred

Comfortable working with inventory data, sales forecasts, and product launch timelines

Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through

Able to balance day-to-day execution with identifying opportunities for improvement

Interested in using AI tools to improve efficiency, analyze data, and streamline e-commerce workflows

Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across teams

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities can shift quickly

Able to work full-time in person at our Old Town Scottsdale office

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to make a measurable impact on a growing e-commerce business. We’re looking for a self-starter who can manage the details, solve problems independently, and help improve how we sell, launch, and deliver our products.
