American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 30, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a true float position across multiple campuses, requiring CA RN licensure and 3 years of ER experience. Details Work in the Emergency Department as a true float RN, rotating 100% of the time across three campuses located about 15 minutes apart Shuttle transport is available between campuses, and travelers are notified at least 2 hours before shift start regarding reporting location Shift schedule is 3x12 hours, rotating between nights (19:00-07:30) and days (07:00-19:30) Weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities required Cares for a combined adult/pediatric ER population in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility Handles trauma, shock, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases Requirements Active CA RN license required Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 3 years of ER nursing experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation Competency in IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration preferred Experience with psychiatric emergencies including suicidal patients and managing violent behavior Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment Serve as a patient advocate, coordinating care and promoting safety and clinical quality Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius Returning travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, each beginning at 7:00 PM the night before and ending 7:00 AM the day after Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing 7-year work history verification required for all candidates American Traveler Job ID P- .
