nWe are seeking a dedicated a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room Team! As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, incorporating the nursing process, utilizing technical equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare team members. You will care for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
nEssential Job Functions:
nnnUtilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
n
nnManage personalized care by promoting and restoring health, collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team, and offering physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
n
nnExecute care plans as prescribed by providers, adhering to nursing practice guidelines and ensuring age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
n
nnEducate patients on medication, procedures, and their care plans during hospitalization and post-discharge.
n
nnMaintain patient confidentiality and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
n
nnPerform and/or supervise activities requiring registered nurse expertise, seeking assistance when necessary.
n
nnProvide leadership and direction in supervising others in delivering nursing care.
n
nnMaintain current competencies by attending educational workshops and participating in departmental projects for process improvement.
n
nnAdhere to the highest safety standards in all tasks.
n
nnOther duties as assigned by management.
n
n nEducation and Licensure:
nnnGraduate of an accredited school of nursing.
n
nnCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Iowa.
n
n nQualifications:
nnnKnowledge of the nursing process and its application.
n
nnAbility to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
n
nnSkilled in post-operative care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
n
nnOngoing continuing education in nursing, appropriate to clinical assignments.
n
nnBCLS certification at the healthcare provider level required.
n
nnACLS and PALS certifications recommended.
