Job description

Manage day-to-day activities and technical services of assigned neurodiagnostic areas

Plan, organize, implement, and coordinate area activities and technical services

Monitor operations to ensure standards and objectives are met

Develop and implement limited or short-term operational plans

Plan and schedule work, distribute assignments, and ensure adequate staffing based on workload and productivity standards

Manage Associates, monitor performance, clarify expectations, assist with goal setting, and promote cooperation

Develop and implement orientation, training, and education processes to assess and maintain staff competence

Develop and monitor expense budgets and authorize expenditures

Assist with capital budgets and cost-control plans

Develop and maintain performance standards and quality assessment/improvement programs

Recommend procedures to improve operational efficiency and service quality

Investigate trends and clinical developments and introduce new procedures

Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and accrediting agency requirements

Develop and implement staff training and continuing education programs

Advance the profession through professional organization participation and required ongoing training

Ensure good interdepartmental relationships and serve as a physician resource and liaison for advanced problem solving

Provide direct and/or indirect supervision for Associates in assigned areas

Requirements

Required - Bachelor's Degree Clinical

Required - Progressive management in field of neurodiagnostic assigned 3-5 years

Required - Registered Electroencephalographic Technician - American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists

Thorough knowledge of clinical practice, procedures, and regulatory standards gained through job relevant work experience

Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials

Ability to effectively communicate with Associates, management, physicians, patients and their families

Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups toward organizational goals

Skill in negotiating with individuals and groups, including Associates, management and physicians

Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow

Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment

Good balance and coordination

Ability to perform the listed physical activities and light work, exerting up to 25 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently

Close visual acuity for data preparation and analysis, transcription, computer terminal viewing, or extensive reading

May be exposed to infectious disease

May be required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
