Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) | Part-TimeSolon Smiles | Solon & Mentor, OHSolon Smiles is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing team on a part-time basis. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality clinical support.This position offers the opportunity to utilize your full EFDA skillset while working alongside a supportive team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient experiences.SchedulePart-TimeMonday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Solon Location)Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Solon Location)Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Mentor Location)Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental proceduresAssist the dentist during restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and preventive treatmentsPlace and finish dental restorations (fillings) in accordance with EFDA licensure and state regulationsTake dental impressions and fabricate temporary crowns or restorationsApply sealants, fluoride treatments, and desensitizing agentsTake and process digital dental radiographs (X-rays)Perform coronal polishing and other expanded functions permitted by state lawEducate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment careMaintain accurate patient records and treatment documentationSterilize instruments and follow infection control protocolsMonitor inventory and ensure operatories are stocked and organizedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of an accredited Dental Assisting programCurrent Ohio EFDA certification/licensure requiredCurrent CPR/BLS certificationKnowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standardsStrong communication and patient care skillsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced team environmentExcellent customer service and patient communication skillsProficiency with dental software and digital radiographyAbility to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulationsPositive attitude and willingness to support team successWhy Join Solon Smiles?Supportive and team-oriented cultureOpportunity to fully utilize your EFDA skillsetModern practice focused on high-quality patient careConsistent part-time schedule across two established locationsOpportunity for professional growth and developmentCollaborative team that values your expertise and contributionsApply Today!
