EHR Systems AnalystThe University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an EHR Systems Analyst to support the Clinical Access Revenue System department, which focuses on optimizing electronic health record workflows, revenue cycle processes, and system functionality to improve patient access and operational performance. The EHR Systems Analyst serves as a primary support contact, bridging end users and the EHR Team while ensuring system solutions align with clinical and business needs. The EHR Systems Analyst at UT MD Anderson develops and maintains deep expertise in Epic, collaborates with clinical and business stakeholders, and contributes to the design, implementation, and ongoing support of system enhancements. The EHR Systems Analyst plays a critical role in supporting high-quality, data-driven care through effective system configuration and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate for the EHR Systems Analyst role brings a bachelor's degree with preferred experience in professional billing, coding, claims, and project management. Certified in Epic Resolute Professional Billing. This individual demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, effective communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams while maintaining a focus on system optimization and patient safety. Minimum $88,000 – Midpoint $110,000 – Maximum $132,000 Work Location: 100% Remote within TexasWhy Us? As an EHR Systems Analyst at UT MD Anderson, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to innovative IT solutions, and grow your expertise in Epic systems within a mission-driven environment that values continuous improvement and work-life balance.ResponsibilitiesStandards & TestingObtain Epic certification within 180 days of hire and maintain required certificationsAdhere to standard operating procedures and maintain build and testing standards with SME or governance signoffFollow IS division best practices and institutional policies, procedures, and standardsPrepare documentation for implementation of enhancements or new technologyFollow documented change control processesPerform quality control and testing to ensure solutions are technically soundBuild, Content Management, & System ConfigurationImplement and prioritize requested system changes or projects in a timely mannerMaintain and troubleshoot EHR system buildModify Epic content based on project team directionParticipate in implementation and optimization efforts with appropriate approvalsAnalyze system configurations with a focus on patient safetyPerform medium-risk or moderately complex system maintenanceComplete routine revisions to meet build metricsProvide functional expertise with clinical workflow understandingProvide technical expertise in system design and developmentSupportProvide customer support and resolve technical and workflow issuesRespond to requests promptly while communicating expectations and timelinesParticipate in after-hours application support and downtime proceduresDevelop knowledge of assigned applications to improve troubleshootingFacilitate issue resolution with Epic technical supportLiaison, Networking Skills, & Business KnowledgeCollect information on system enhancements and workflow improvementsEstablish and maintain relationships with customers and OneIS to deliver effective solutionsCollaborate with senior analysts to expand technical and business knowledgeAttend meetings, participate in workgroups, and serve on committees as neededEDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor's DegreeWORK EXPERIENCERequired: 2 years Clinical, relevant healthcare information technology, or relevant business experience.May substitute required education with years of related experience on a one to one basis.Preferred: At least 3 years experience in professional billing, professional coding, professional billing claims, project management, strong analytical skills, good facilitation, inter-team and customer communication and organization skills.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSRequired: EPIC - EPIC Certification within 180 DaysOTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
