nThis is a temporary, full-time, in-person position that may require some evening and weekend availability. The position will run through November with possible extension to regular, full-time employment.
nJob Summary
nCOPAL is hiring an Electoral Organizer to lead voter engagement and electoral organizing efforts across Minnesota through the 2026 election cycle. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong political analysis with grassroots organizing skills, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is deeply committed to building community power. The Electoral Organizer will recruit and supervise volunteers, drive data-informed outreach strategies, and leverage organizing tools to maximize voter contact and impact.
nResponsibilities
nDevelop and execute data-driven voter engagement strategies, including voter registration, education, persuasion, and turnout efforts.
nApply political analysis of regional and local dynamics to refine targeting, messaging, and outreach plans.
nLead Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts and coordinate election-day operations.
nTrack performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve effectiveness and reach.
nRecruit, train, and directly supervise volunteers and volunteer leaders.
nBuild a strong volunteer pipeline and foster leadership development.
nSet goals, monitor performance, and provide coaching to ensure high-quality voter contact.
nBuild and maintain relationships with voters, community leaders, and partner organizations.
nRepresent COPAL at community events, coalition meetings, and public forums.
nGather community insights and integrate feedback into organizing strategies.
nMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, contacts, and volunteer engagement.
nUtilize EveryAction to support voter targeting, list management, reporting, and program evaluation.
nAnalyze outreach data to inform decision-making and improve campaign outcomes.
nProduce regular reports and updates for the Political Director.
nCoordinate voter education events, trainings, forums, and outreach activities.
nManage logistics and ensure programs are executed efficiently and effectively.
nParticipate in fundraising activities as appropriate, including funder site visits, membership outreach, and donor phone banking.
nWhat You Bring
nBilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
nPrevious experience working with Latine and immigrant communities.
nPrevious experience using EveryAction or similar voter database systems.
nCommitment to COPAL's mission and building community political power.
nPrevious experience in electoral organizing, political campaigns, grassroots advocacy, or related community engagement work.
nPrevious experience with recruiting, coordinating, training, or supervising volunteers, teams, or community members.
nStrong political analysis skills and understanding of electoral dynamics.
nThe ability to use data, metrics, and reporting to inform strategy and decision-making.
nThe ability to quickly learn new systems, technologies, and processes.
nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
nStrong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
nStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
nThe ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
nFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
nThe ability to travel to work sites and community locations within a 15-mile radius of the office.
nThe ability to walk for extended periods while conducting canvassing and outreach activities.
nA valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet COPAL’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
