Job description

Electrical And Computer Engineering Administrative AssistantRose-Hulman Institute of Technology has an opening in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as an Administrative Assistant. We have been ranked No. 1 among U.S. engineering colleges by the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Guide for the last 27 consecutive years.The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, serving as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. This role manages departmental communications, records, and office operations; coordinates meetings, travel, events, faculty searches, and other activities; and serves as a resource on departmental and university policies and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining websites and departmental resources, supporting budget and payment processes, assisting with student employee administration, and coordinating specialized functions such as accreditation activities, student awards, course pre-registration, professional development tracking, summer programs, and administrative support for research programs, competition teams, and departmental projects. The position performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional objectives.Qualified candidates will have an associate degree and three to five years of professional work experience. Varying education/experience may be considered in lieu of the other.Preferred candidates will have higher education experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; ability to learn and adapt to new processes and systems; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; advanced understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing; and the ability to work independently. Pay is competitive.
