Job description

Electrical AssemblerThis role focuses on electrical assembly and wiring for custom fire trucks, working from the chassis up to complete specialized emergency vehicles. You will assemble and program electrical systems, troubleshoot both 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry, and ensure all work meets engineering specifications and quality standards. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, variety in daily tasks, and contributing to the production of highly customized vehicles.ResponsibilitiesAssemble under-dash harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards, and a wide range of electrical components for custom fire trucks.Program lighting systems according to engineering specifications, including light packages and flash patterns.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry to ensure proper operation.Test completed electrical systems and components to verify performance against specifications and quality standards.Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and layouts to ensure trucks are built accurately to design.Perform functionality checks on air horns, sirens, light packages, flash patterns, door locks, and other electrical accessories.Identify and correct quality issues in electrical assemblies and wiring.Use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools to perform precise measurements and accurate installations.Conduct electrical testing and inspection of assemblies to verify safety and reliability.Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely.Collaborate with team members and communicate professionally to support production goals in a fast-paced environment.Essential SkillsPreferred 12 years of automotive electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.Preferred high school diploma or GED.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, and layouts.Ability to work with both 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry.Proficiency in electrical assembly, including wiring, schematic reading, and electronic assembly.Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.Ability to use common hand tools and power tools, such as drills and screw guns.Capability to perform soldering and work with circuit boards and electronic components.Ability to conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of assemblies.Strong basic mathematics skills and ability to perform necessary computations.Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly to follow written and verbal instructions.Professional communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on vehicles or in a similar manufacturing environment.Comfort working with hand and power tools in a production setting.Experience with blueprint and schematic reading.Familiarity with electronic assembly, including soldering and circuit board work.Attention to detail and strong quality focus when building and testing electrical systems.Ability to adapt to different tasks within the department on a day-to-day basis.Interest in career development and growth within a manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?You will join a clean, fast-paced production environment that values growth, skill development, and long-term careers. The facility is clean, houses more than 50 employees, and operates in a fast-paced setting with relatively tight quarters, requiring awareness of your surroundings and teamwork. You will work on the first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing a four-day workweek with longer shifts. The work involves regular use of tape measures, hand tools, and power tools such as drills and screw guns, as well as handling electrical components, circuit boards, and testing equipment. The dress code includes jeans and a t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt, with steel-toe footwear required for safety on the shop floor.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ - $ /yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Medical, dental and vision benefits start on day one.
