Job description
Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centers Locations: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Contract: Long-term W2 contract
Rate: $70–$100 per hour, depending on experience
We are looking for experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support major data center projects across Virginia.
Candidates must have direct commissioning experience working on Equinix data center projects. This is an essential requirement for the position.
Responsibilities
Support electrical commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle
Review electrical drawings, specifications, commissioning plans and technical documentation
Perform and witness equipment inspections, energization and functional testing
Support L2–L5 commissioning activities
Identify, document and track commissioning issues through to resolution
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, client teams and project stakeholders
Produce commissioning reports, test documentation and progress updates
Ensure systems are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements
Relevant Electrical Systems
UPS systems
Generators
Switchgear and transformers
PDUs and electrical distribution systems
EPMS and electrical controls
Load-bank testing
Functional and integrated systems testing
Essential Requirements
Direct commissioning experience on Equinix data center projects
Strong electrical commissioning background
Previous mission-critical or data center experience
Experience completing commissioning documentation and test scripts
Strong communication, reporting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with contractors, vendors and client representatives
Willingness to work on site in Fredericksburg, Virginia
