Job description
The Electrical Engineer will support the electrical planning, installation, wiring, commissioning, and startup of manufacturing equipment. This role will work closely with engineering, maintenance, contractors, equipment suppliers, and operations to ensure electrical systems are safely and effectively installed, tested, and brought into production.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate electrical systems for new manufacturing equipment and plant expansions.
Develop and review electrical layouts, wiring plans, schematics, panel designs, and equipment specifications.
Support installation and wiring of production equipment, control panels, motors, drives, and related electrical systems.
Lead or support electrical startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and equipment turnover to operations.
Work with contractors and vendors to ensure electrical installations meet project requirements and applicable codes.
Troubleshoot electrical power, controls, and equipment issues.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, company electrical standards, and applicable safety requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
Experience with electrical planning, equipment installation, wiring, commissioning, and startup.
Understanding of electrical power systems (including low and medium voltage).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.
Experience working with motors, VFDs, MCCs, control panels, and industrial electrical equipment.
Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E requirements.
Experience coordinating contractors, equipment suppliers, and cross-functional project teams.
