The ideal candidate is an Electrical Engineer who has successfully moved into Project Management and enjoys operating at the intersection of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and construction. This individual can comfortably review electrical designs, coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage competing priorities, identify risks early, and drive projects to completion. The Modular Engineering Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of modular data center units — from design coordination and factory fabrication through logistics, delivery, and on-site installation. This role serves as the critical link between manufacturing partners, engineering teams, general contractors, and site operations to ensure modules are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to spec. The ideal candidate has a strong background in modular/prefab construction, industrial electrical design, project controls, applicable codes and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced infrastructure environment.
Manage the end-to-end delivery of modular data center units, including electrical, mechanical, and structural modules, from factory build through site installation
Serve as the primary point of contact between module manufacturers, EPC partners, and client's internal engineering and construction teams
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering fabrication, quality inspection, transportation, and on-site integration milestones
Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and quality assurance processes prior to module shipment
Manage coordination of on-site rigging, placement, and integration of modules with general contractors and site superintendents
Coordinate and oversee logistics planning and delivery sequencing for oversized/heavy-haul module transport.
Track budgets, change orders, and vendor invoicing related to module fabrication and delivery
Identify and mitigate risks related to fabrication delays, supply chain disruptions, transportation constraints, or site readiness
Ensure all modules meet Cipher Digital's technical specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes
Partner with procurement to manage vendor relationships and hold manufacturing partners accountable to contractual commitments
Provide regular progress reporting to internal stakeholders and leadership on module status, schedule adherence, and budget performance
Support commissioning teams during module energization and integration into the broader data center build
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
~5+ years of experience in project management within modular construction, prefabrication, data center construction, or related industrial/infrastructure sectors
~ Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems as they relate to modular/prefabricated builds and ability to coordinate multiple disciplines (electrical, controls, security, fire systems, etc) into a cohesive code compliant design.
~ Proven ability to manage multiple vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders simultaneously
~ Determines program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and assists in developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities.
