Electrical Installation ApprenticeFire Fighter Sales and Svcs Co - Warrendale, PAOverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Diploma or Equivalent Travel Percentage Road Warrior Category ConstructionDescriptionJob Summary: The Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Installation Apprentice will assist the Lead Technician in a wide range of tasks related to the installation, servicing, testing, and inspection of electrical systems and life safety devices. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience and training across multiple disciplines in the low voltage and fire protection fields. Primary responsibilities include assisting withInstallation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systemsSupport work on fire suppression systemsInstallation and maintenance of security systemsSetup and configuration of CCTV (closed-circuit television) systemsIntegration of kitchen appliance shutdown devices with fire safety systemsInstallation and support for access control systemsRunning and terminating voice/data cablingQualificationsAdditional Qualifying Factors:Experience with fire alarm system installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, or inspection.Familiarity with low-voltage (12V–70V DC) and line-voltage (120V AC) systems.Knowledge of CCTV, structured cabling/data systems, and access control technologies.Ability to safely operate scissor lifts and aerial lifts.Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.Certifications considered a plus:BICSI CertificationCity of Pittsburgh Electrician LicenseNICET Fire Alarm CertificationsWest Virginia Low Voltage LicenseOhio Fire CertificationOSHA CertificationsCommercial Driver's License (CDL) with H EndorsementJob Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school degree is a plus.Basic knowledge of wiring and/or electrical construction.Experience using electronic test equipment and troubleshooting tools.Basic understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics.Proficient with hand and power tools commonly used in electrical and low voltage work.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.Demonstrates strong teamwork and a collaborative mindset.Prior customer service experience is a plus.Ability to work overtime and adjust to varying schedules as required.Comfortable adapting to change with little advance notice.Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.Work Environment & Physical Requirements:Perform work offsite at customer locations, including clean and unclean conditions, and in hot or cold environments.Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, exposed to various weather elements.Ability to climb ladders ranging from 6 ft. to 32 ft. and work safely from heights as required.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hard hats, and other site-specific safety gear may be required.Must be willing and able to travel for overnight stays when necessary.Compensation & Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability coverage.Optional supplemental benefits.Paid time off (PTO) starting in your first year of employment.Seven (7) paid holidays annually.401(k) plan with safe harbor match, including both traditional and Roth options.Business casual office environment.Employee referral program with bonus opportunities.Company-provided work attire featuring our logo.Potential for a company vehicle to be provided for job-related travelCompany-issued mobile phone for work-related communicationFire Fighter Sales and Service Co. is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
