Job description
Electrical InspectorThis position is responsible for examining drawings to ensure code compliance, supervising electrical inspectors, and managing the work program for inspecting electrical systems to ensure code compliance.Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals.Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.Provides technical assistance to field inspectors and other city departments.Reviews permit plans for code compliance and interpretation of the electrical code.Addresses electrical issues directed to the city by engineers, contractors, architects, other city departments, and members of general public.Performs other related duties as assigned.High School diploma or GED equivalent, with five (5) years of journey-level electrician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires State of Georgia Unrestricted Electrical Contractor's License. Requires ICC Certification as Electrical Inspector and Electrical Plans Examiner. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Additional Requirements Background investigation, including a supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
