Are You the Electrician Who Thinks Like an Owner?
You know the electrical trade—but you also understand people, numbers, and what it takes to run profitable work.
You can walk into a homeowner’s house, make them feel comfortable, diagnose a problem, explain the options clearly, and recognize when a small service call could lead to a larger project.
You understand labor.
You understand materials.
You understand that a job can look great on paper and still lose money if it isn’t scoped, priced, and executed correctly.
And you want more responsibility than simply being handed a work order and told where to go next.
Limitless Electric is hiring a Residential Service Electrician focused on estimating, sales, and customer relationships.
Think of this position as running your service van almost like your own business—without having to take on all the risk and responsibility of owning the company.
We provide the brand, leads, systems, pricing tools, support, and installation crews.
Your job is to take ownership of the opportunity.
The Role
This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position for an experienced residential electrician who enjoys:
Troubleshooting. People. Estimating. Numbers. Sales. Problem-solving. Results.
You’ll typically run approximately 3–4 residential service appointments and consultations per day .
Some appointments will involve troubleshooting and smaller repairs that you can complete yourself.
Others will uncover larger projects such as:
Panel and service upgrades
EV charging
Lighting projects
Rewiring
Electrical improvements
Generator equipment
Dedicated circuits
Older-home electrical upgrades
Whole-home projects
For larger opportunities, your responsibility is simple:
Evaluate it. Scope it. Price it. Present it. Sell it. Document it. Hand it off.
You won't be expected to spend several days completing larger installations.
Once the project is properly sold and scoped, our installation team takes over.
That allows you to keep your schedule moving, continue meeting homeowners, solve problems, develop new opportunities, and create a steady pipeline of properly scoped work for the company.
What Your Day Looks Like
You’ll be responsible for:
Running approximately 3–4 residential service calls and consultations per day
Diagnosing residential electrical problems
Completing qualifying service repairs
Meeting homeowners and understanding what they are trying to accomplish
Inspecting existing electrical systems
Identifying appropriate solutions
Explaining electrical issues in a way homeowners can easily understand
Building accurate estimates based on labor, materials, scope, and job conditions
Presenting options and helping homeowners make confident decisions
Asking for the work and closing qualified opportunities
Identifying legitimate additional electrical needs while in the home
Taking detailed photos, measurements, and project notes
Creating accurate scopes of work for our installation electricians
Handing larger sold projects off cleanly to the installation team
Following up with open estimates and opportunities
Building customer relationships that lead to repeat work and referrals
Keeping accurate information in our CRM
Tracking your numbers, including sales, close rate, average ticket, and profitability
Staying current with electrical codes, products, permits, and residential best practices
The Type of Electrician We're Looking For
This position is built for a high performer who wants ownership over the result.
You’ll probably love this role if you:
Like having a full schedule and staying busy
Are naturally good with people
Can comfortably start a conversation with almost anyone
Enjoy diagnosing and solving problems
Are competitive with yourself
Like having numbers and goals to beat
Understand labor hours and material costs
Think about whether a project will actually be profitable
Notice opportunities other people overlook
Follow up without someone constantly reminding you
Take ownership instead of waiting for instructions
Enjoy presenting solutions and closing projects
Want your individual performance to matter
Want more responsibility than a traditional electrician position
Enjoy electrical work but don't want to spend every day on large installations
Have ever looked at the way a job was being handled and thought:
“I could run this better.”
You should be equally comfortable troubleshooting an electrical problem, talking with a homeowner at their kitchen table, and reviewing labor, material costs, pricing, and gross margin.
This Probably Isn't the Right Position If...
If you want to clock in, receive a list of jobs, complete exactly what's assigned, and go home without thinking much about what happens before or after the installation, this probably isn't the position for you.
There is nothing wrong with that type of electrician.
It simply isn't what we're hiring for in this role.
We're looking for someone who wants:
Ownership. Responsibility. Growth. Accountability. Opportunity.
Someone who cares about the entire result—not just whether the wires were installed correctly.
You Don't Need to Be a Salesperson
Traditional sales experience is not required.
We would rather hire a great electrician who understands people and can learn our sales process than hire a salesperson who doesn't understand electrical work.
We're not looking for someone to pressure homeowners into buying things they don't need.
We're looking for an electrician who can:
Identify the problem. Understand what the homeowner wants. Recommend the right solution. Explain it clearly. Price it correctly. And confidently ask for the work.
Your electrical knowledge creates credibility.
Your communication creates trust.
Your ability to bring the two together creates the opportunity.
Projects You'll Commonly Work With
Our residential work includes:
Electrical troubleshooting and service calls
100-amp and 200-amp service upgrades
Electrical panel replacements
SPAN smart electrical panels
EV charger installations
Dedicated circuits
Recessed lighting and lighting upgrades
Ceiling and exhaust fans
Generator interlocks and transfer equipment
Hot tubs and spas
Exterior and security lighting
Knob-and-tube and older-home electrical upgrades
Surge protection
Grounding and bonding
Permanent architectural lighting
Whole-home electrical improvements
What We're Looking For
Strong residential electrical experience
Connecticut electrical license appropriate for independently performing assigned work
Strong understanding of residential electrical systems and the NEC
Strong troubleshooting ability
Ability to estimate labor and materials accurately
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable presenting pricing and asking homeowners to move forward
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to use a CRM, tablet, estimating software, and basic technology
Professional appearance and attitude
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
High level of personal accountability
Experience in residential service, electrical estimating, project management, sales, or operating your own electrical business is especially valuable.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role isn't measured by revenue alone.
A successful Residential Service Electrician at Limitless:
Takes excellent care of the homeowner
Shows up prepared and on time
Builds trust quickly
Asks good questions
Finds the actual problem
Recommends the right solution
Produces accurate scopes
Prices work intelligently
Protects company margins
Closes qualified opportunities
Creates clean handoffs for our installation team
Follows up consistently
Generates repeat customers and referrals
Takes ownership of the final result
We want profitable work, happy customers, clean installations, and customers who call Limitless again the next time they need an electrician.
Why Limitless Electric?
We're not trying to build another electrical company where talented electricians are simply dispatched from job to job.
We're building a company where great people can take ownership, develop professionally, and directly influence the success of the business.
We're growing our residential service operation, building additional installation crews, improving our systems, and creating opportunities for people who want to grow with the company.
In this position, you won't have to build the entire machine yourself.
You don't have to create the brand.
You don't have to generate every lead.
You don't have to build the website.
You don't have to answer every phone call.
You don't have to manage advertising, payroll, scheduling, or all the other responsibilities that come with owning an electrical company.
We build the infrastructure around you so you can focus on what you're great at: taking care of homeowners, solving electrical problems, developing opportunities, and producing results.
You’ll have the opportunity to use more than your hands.
You'll use your:
Electrical knowledge
Personality
Judgment
Business sense
Communication skills
Drive
And as Limitless grows, we want our best people to grow with it.
Our Mission
Our mission is to become the most trusted residential electrical company in Connecticut by building lifelong relationships through exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication, and an unwavering commitment to doing every job right.
We want every homeowner to feel confident, respected, and cared for—from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
This position plays a major part in delivering that experience.
You're often the person sitting across from the homeowner, understanding their problem, earning their trust, developing the solution, and setting the project up for success.
What You Get
We expect a lot from this position, and the right person should have the opportunity to benefit from the results they produce.
Competitive hourly compensation
Performance-based bonus opportunity
Company vehicle
Company-provided leads and scheduled appointments
Established pricing and estimating systems
Installation crews to complete larger sold projects
401(k) with company match
Paid time off
Training and professional development
Opportunity for increased responsibility as the company grows
This is a position for someone who wants to build a career—not simply find another electrical job.
Interested?
If you're an experienced residential electrician who enjoys people, numbers, troubleshooting, estimating, selling work, and producing results, we'd like to hear from you.
We're especially interested in talking to electricians who have thought:
“I’d like to run my own business someday.”
You may find that this position gives you many of the things you want from ownership—responsibility, autonomy, performance, numbers, customers, and growth—without having to build everything alone.
