Job description

Electromechanical AssemblerJoin a team that designs, manufactures, and supplies electrical power solutions across the power market. As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will perform hands-on mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks to build transformers and related power equipment using hand and power tools, while working collaboratively in a production environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical assembly tasks using hand and power tools to build transformers and related power equipment.Stack and position metal components accurately to support transformer and switchgear assembly.Measure materials and components precisely using a tape measure to ensure proper fit and alignment.Install and mount heavy components such as breakers, transformers, busway, and contactors in accordance with mechanical prints and assembly guidelines.Install sheet metal panels and doors, including punching, aligning, and bolting copper and aluminum busbar.Follow assembly line processes to meet production schedules and quality standards.Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor assembly issues and support continuous improvement on the line.Read and interpret mechanical prints; use schematic and wiring diagrams when applicable to guide assembly work.Learn and perform basic electrical tasks, including using crimp connectors, ferrule blocks, and terminal strips under guidance and training.Bundle cables, apply zip ties, and route wires cleanly along wireways to maintain organized and safe electrical assemblies.Collaborate with team members, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive, problem-solving work culture.Demonstrate initiative by taking ownership of tasks, asking questions, and seeking opportunities to improve skills.Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules.Support material handling activities as needed; operate a forklift if trained and authorized.Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and handled.Remain flexible to work in various areas of the facility, including both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled spaces.Work assigned shifts and be open to overtime and extended shifts as production needs require.Must Have SkillsProficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical assembly.13 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or carpentry environments.Ability to stand for extended periods, including up to 12-hour days when required.Mechanical aptitude and comfort working on an assembly line.Ability to accurately measure using a tape measure and follow basic layout instructions.Capability to mount and handle heavy components such as breakers, transformers, busway, and contactors safely.Experience installing sheet metal panels and doors, including basic punching, aligning, and bolting tasks.Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.Willingness and ability to learn electrical assembly tasks such as using crimp connectors, ferrule blocks, and terminal strips.Willingness and ability to learn cable bundling, zip-tying, and clean wire routing along wireways.Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor or non-climate-controlled areas.Ability to follow safety procedures and facility rules, including use of required personal protective equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssembly line experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Experience with blueprints and/or wiring diagrams is a strong plus.Schematic reading skills are a strong plus.Mechanical print reading experience is a strong plus.Experience with switchboard or low-voltage power circuit breaker switchgear is a plus.Forklift experience is a bonus but not required.Exposure to mechanical, wiring, and power distribution equipment is beneficial.Comfort working in a diverse environment, including multilingual teams.Why Work Here?You will join a company that invests in your development through structured, paid training and ongoing skill-building opportunities. The environment is diverse and inclusive, with multilingual teams and Spanish-speaking employees welcomed. The standard schedule is approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a typical 4050-hour workweek and the possibility of 12-hour shifts based on production needs, so flexibility with hours is important. Steel-toe footwear is required, and employees should not bring their own tools, as necessary tools are provided by the company. The facility supports heavy industrial assembly work and uses standard hand and power tools, material handling equipment, and electrical power assembly technologies. During the initial phase, new hires attend orientation in Houston and then travel to Troy, Michigan, for up to four weeks of training with all expenses paid, with the option to fly home on weekends. Overall, the work environment combines hands-on industrial assembly with structured training and clear safety practices.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cypress, TX 77429.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
