Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing (MASH) - Electronics AssemblerThe Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing (MASH) - Electronics Assembler will be a technical resource responsible for assembling miniature printed circuit assemblies, setting up auto assembly machines and operating computerized test systems. Additionally, the electronics assembler will perform visual quality assurance of assemblies completed in the auto assembly process.Location – Rapid City, SDFull-Time PositionHours – Monday-Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm); voluntary OT is sometimes availableJob QualificationsQualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' electronics assembly experience hand soldering miniature electronics components. Further qualifications include:Ability to solder high density miniature circuits under a microscope @ 10x magnification.Must read and understand assembly instructionsAbility to perform miniature detailed assembly workInspect electronics assembliesPractical understanding of electronic componentsTroubleshoot products in manufacturingAbility to work with a microscope and various assembly toolsDesire to workBe punctual and reliable.Working knowledge of IPC-Standards expected but not required.IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic AssembliesJ-STD-001 Soldering Standard.IPC-A-WHMA-620 Wire Harness AssemblyManual Dexterity Evaluation:As part of the hiring process, you will be required to perform a Manual Dexterity Evaluation to assess the ability to perform the previously stated Job Qualifications.These basic tasks and abilities are:Be able to manually solder under the microscope (10X magnification), Qty=2 units (a SMT IMU cube assembly and thru-hole assembly component.Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:Other Desired Qualifications or Experience.Operate Auto Assembly EquipmentOperation of solder ironsOperate hot air rework stationOperate hot air solder pencil, tweezers, and microscopeUnderstand and implement assembly instructions from computer-based documentationRecognize and repair defectsOperate curing ovenAssemble miniature cable assembliesLearn operational procedure for specialized test equipmentOperate computer-based test systemsAssist in inventory auditsIf you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.VIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer – minorities/females/veterans/persons with disabilities.
