Job description

Lead Electronics EngineerWe are looking for a Lead Electronics Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, fabricating, testing, and troubleshooting Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used to integrate and test the Orion spacecraft for NASA's Artemis missions. Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton Colorado and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.The focus for this role is to work as an experienced responsible engineer, ensuring the technical integrity of your products and leading a small engineering team responsible for the design, drawings, documentation, and support of ground electronic test systems, primarily racks of equipment designed to test the Orion spacecraft as it is manufactured at Kennedy Space Center. The EGSE team is responsible for the design of a wide variety of test equipment, including low voltage AC/DC power, batteries, analog and digital signals, telemetry systems, RF electronics, audio & video, computer systems, vehicle emulators, cabling, and networking equipment that is used to interface with, test, and monitor spacecraft vehicles and other flight hardware.Key activities you will accomplish in this role:Lead a small team of 3 to 4 engineers in designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting a suite of EGSE end item designs and racks that all test unique subsystems of the Orion spacecraftReview and update engineering drawings and documentation created by your team for test equipment racks, chassis, cables and other assemblies to ensure their technical integritySupport manufacturing during procurement, build and modification of EGSE equipmentPerform testing of ground support equipment for a variety of electronic component assembliesSupport EGSE during usage testing the Orion spacecraft, assisting users and troubleshooting anomaliesCertify that the final EGSE products meet all requirements and that engineering drawings, documents and paperwork accurately represent the as-built productResearch, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systemsTo be effective in this role, you will need:Experience with Orion EGSE processes, drawings, documents and designsExperience with design, manufacturing, test, and support of purpose-built, integrated electronic systems or Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)5+ years of professional experienceBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined educationExperience designing or supporting Electrical Ground Support EquipmentExperience in electronics design and/or test of electrical hardwareDesired Skills:Test equipment experience including Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and Voltage ProbesProduction of electrical engineering drawings using Zuken E3Manufacturing and final assembly of rack level electrical equipmentElectrical circuit design and analysisFailure analysisFamiliarity with electrical design IEEE standardsWindchill (EPDM)Electrical drawing checking experienceHardware component selectionDevelopment of electrical design documentation to include operations and maintenance of hardware equipmentMechanical drawing checking experienceLinux experienceNI Labview operationsExperience or coursework in analog or digital, RF, telemetry, networking, power, or cabling designStrong Self-MotivationAbility to lead a small team of engineersAttention to DetailAbility to work in a collaborative team-based environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office software suiteA willingness for occasional travelExperience in using AI tools for engineering applicationsPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $ - $ At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
