Job description
Elementary Interventionist
Elementary Interventionists provide targeted, evidence-based academic interventions to students in need of additional support. The Elementary Interventionist will play a critical role in the District's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by using student data to identify needs, deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and support personnel to accelerate student achievement.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative professional who understands the importance of high-quality core instruction, differentiated instruction, intervention, progress monitoring, and data-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based and data-driven interventions to identified students in areas of demonstrated need.
Deliver targeted small-group and/or individual instruction during designated ELA and Math flex/intervention periods.
Implement intervention plans with fidelity and adjust instructional strategies based on student response and progress-monitoring data.
Provide differentiated instruction and adapt instructional strategies, materials, and supports to address diverse learning needs.
Benchmark identified students at least three times per year using District-approved assessment measures.
Analyze assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify trends, determine student response to intervention, and inform MTSS decisions.
Maintain appropriate documentation regarding student strengths, needs, interventions, progress, and areas of continued concern.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, intervention teams, special education staff, related-service personnel, administrators, and other appropriate District personnel.
Serve as a resource and problem-solving partner to teachers and support staff regarding academic, behavioral, and classroom-related concerns.
Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), MTSS meetings, and problem-solving teams to review student data and develop effective intervention plans.
Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of individualized intervention plans.
Promote positive student relationships, engagement, independence, and confidence while providing intervention and instructional support.
Assist with student supervision and transitions, including lunch, recess, gymnasium, music, assemblies, field trips, and other scheduled activities, as assigned.
Provide classroom coverage or serve as a substitute teacher when needed and appropriately assigned.
Support building-wide academic, behavioral, MTSS, and school improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by building and District administration.
