Job description
School Nurse RN Grades PreK-5
nTypical Duties:
nnnAssists with Health Education for staff and students.
n
nnAssesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the health needs of students and staff.
n
nnDevelop individual healthcare plans with specific goals, objectives, and interventions for students with special health needs and/or chronic health problems.
n
nnServes as liaison between the medical community, the school, and the staff regarding student health concerns.
n
nnAssists with mandated School Immunization programs and screening programs.
n
nnAssists in assessing in-school and community health care resources.
n
nnPerform other duties as may be assigned by the PPS Director.
n

nJob Qualifications
nRequirements:
nnnNew York State License, as a Registered Nurse or
n
nnGraduation from a NYS approved School of Practical Nursing and Possession of a valid NYS Professional Nursing License
n
nnCurrent certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation/automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED)
n
