Job description
ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary: This position provides support and assistance to the Dependency Case Manager to gather information used to complete eligibility determination for children in shelter, foster care, and adoption placements to maximize the federal draw down to the State of Florida based on higher eligibility penetration rates.
Essential Functions:
The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.
Consult with Dependency Case Managers, foster parents, and service provider staff to clarify policies and procedures relevant to eligibility.
Establish a collaborative relationship with ChildNet legal department, Office of the Attorney General, Clerks Office, children in care and clients.
Organize eligibility documentation according to State requirements. Follow up on referrals to ensure timely case closures.
Verify funding sources (Title IV-E and Medicaid) to meet compliance, accuracy, and completeness standards. Update software systems with respective data.
Conduct audits of Title IV-E cases and prepares cases for federal, state, and third-party review.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Years of Experience: Two (2) years of Case Management experience
Two (2) years of Child Welfare experience
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in social services or related field
