This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Coding Specialist to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for emergency room encounters - No Injections and Infusions or E/M - Mostly diagnosis coding and procedures. This remote role is ideal for coders who excel in independent work environments and are motivated by performance-based compensation. Coders will be expected to maintain high productivity and quality standards while navigating complex documentation across multiple specialties.

Per-Chart Pay Model: Earn$2.25 per chart. High-performing coders average11-12charts per hour, with earnings directly tied to output.

Flexible Scheduling: Work hours available between6 AM – 6 PM PST, including weekends. Full-time and part-time options available.

Code emergency department charts, including trauma cases, urgent care visits, and procedural documentation
Apply coding guidelines to ensure compliance with payer and regulatory standards
Maintain productivity targets (average 10 charts/hour) and quality scores above 95%
Communicate with QA teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy
Keep up-to-date with ED-specific coding changes and best practice
Requirements
Certification: Active AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of emergency department coding experience
Technology: Proficiency withEPICand3M 360platforms.
Knowledge: Familiarity with ED workflows, documentation styles, and coding nuance
Skills: High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication. Proven ability to meet high-volume productivity goals. Experience with remote coding systems and per-chart compensation models
