Location: Clarksburg, 25704, WV \ N
Shifts: Multiple options available, including: \ N
- Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM\ N
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM\ N
Schedule: Coverage required Wednesday through Tuesday, including holidays. \ N
Job Responsibilities \ N
Scope of Care /Duties \ N
- Direct Patient Care (Approx. 95% of time):\ N
- Provide comprehensive emergency care including evaluation, treatment, resuscitation, stabilization, triage, diagnosis, and disposition.\ N
- Manage minor to major procedures, including:\ N
- Local anesthesia, incision & drainage, laceration repair, nail trephination, nasal cautery, gastric lavage, bladder catheterization, peripheral IV insertion, spinal immobilization.\ N
- Abdominal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, hematologic, endocrine, metabolic, head/neck, eye, musculoskeletal, nervous system, psychiatric, respiratory, renal/urologic, OB/GYN disorders.\ N
- Major emergency procedures such as central lines, chest tubes, defibrillation, cardioversion, intubation, lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, sedation, temporary pacemaker placement, and cricothyroidotomy.\ N
- Review and hand off inpatient admissions recommended by Advanced Practice Providers.\ N
- Provide consultations, referrals, and guidance to referring clinicians.\ N
- Initiate social work referrals for homeless or high-risk patients.\ N
- Apply or supervise orthopedic devices (splints, braces).\ N
- Follow medication policies;
no sample medications provided.\ N
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions.\ N
Administrative / Other Duties (Approx. 5% of time): \ N
Attend staff meetings as required. \ N
- Complete qualityassurance and performance improvement documentation.\ N
- Document all patient care in the electronic health record (EHR) and ensure appropriate coding for services provided.\ N
- Follow patient safety and infection control standards;
report incidents and adverse events promptly.\ N
- Address patient/customer service issues in coordination with supervisory staff.\ N
Hours / Scheduling \ N
The Emergency Department operates 24/7, including holidays.\ N
- Shift schedules may vary;
physicians must be available to work during all hours of operation or as required by leadership.\ N
- Timely patient evaluation and consult completion are required.\ N
Licensing Requirements: \ N
- All physicians must hold full and unrestricted licenses. Physicians with any history of restrictions, suspension, revocation, voluntary surrender, or denial are not eligible.\ N
Qualifications: \ N
- Current license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or district where services are performed.\ N
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.\ N
- Degree in Medicine (MD/DO).\ N
- Copies of ACLS/BLS Certifications.\ N
- Documentation ofboard certification or board eligibility.\ N
- DEA registration.\ N
- National Provider Identifier (NPI).\ N
- List of procedures performed in the past two years.\ N
- Health record documentation as required.\ N
