Emergency Medical Dispatcher/UKHCJob Title - Emergency Medical Dispatcher/UKHCWorking Title - Emergency Medical DispatcherDepartment Name - Emergency ServicesWork Location - Lexington, KYGrade Level - 07Salary Range - $ /hourType of Position - StaffPosition Time Status - Full-TimeRequired Education - HSRequired Related Experience - 1 yrRequired License/Registration/Certification - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); plus dispatching certification from The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International within a year of hirePhysical Requirements - This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds.Shift - Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week, 1745 – 0615; will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.Job Summary - The emergency medical dispatcher will serve within UK emergency services' dispatch. The dispatcher will be responsible for managing and directing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching UK ambulances, scheduling ambulance transports, and assisting in air traffic control for helicopters landing at the UK medical center.
