Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Southwest Florida
Join our community hospital emergency department in beautiful Southwest Florida as an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Position Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and diagnostics
Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs and imaging studies
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with emergency medicine physicians
Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice and hospital protocols
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR system
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental protocols
Required Qualifications and Skills Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based Emergency Medicine experience (required for credentialing)
Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain licensure
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification preferred
Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience with electronic medical records systems, Meditech EMR preferred
Compensation and Schedule Competitive annual salary range: $150,000 - $165,000
1099 independent contractor position
Weekday coverage only - no weekends
Convenient 8-hour shifts
No overnight or on-call responsibilities
