Locum Tenens Job Details Specialty: Emergency Medicine Position: Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Location: Sumter, South Carolina Employment Type: Locum tenens Estimated Weekly Pay: $4,490-$4,810 Start Date: November 2, 2026 Contract Duration: Approximately 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Schedule: 7 days on/7 days off, with coverage needed for approximately two weeks per month Call: None Patient Population: Approximately 85% adults, 10% pediatric patients, and 5% trauma cases; all age groups may be treated Electronic Medical Record: Epic Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Requirements At least 2 years of post-training clinical experience in emergency medicine Board certification in Emergency Medicine Active South Carolina Nurse Practitioner license Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Current DEA registration Experience with electronic medical records; Epic experience is preferred Ability to meet applicable credentialing and privileging requirements Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be accepted. MMR and varicella documentation or approved waivers may also be required. Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department Provide emergency care for adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients Recognize and manage urgent and emergent medical conditions within the scope of practice Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and coordinate follow-up care Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in Epic Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other members of the emergency care team Use emergency medicine equipment appropriate for a high-acuity, Level I trauma environment Apply now for this Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner locum tenens opportunity in Sumter, South Carolina, and join a collaborative healthcare team.
