Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Job in Fredericksburg, Virginia Join a high-volume emergency department in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a welcoming historic city with easy access to the Rappahannock River, local dining, and the greater Northern Virginia and Richmond corridor. This locum tenens emergency medicine physician opportunity offers overnight coverage in a well-established emergency department serving a busy community patient population.
Job Details Employment Type: Locum tenens Specialty: Emergency Medicine Physician Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22408 Start Date: December 4, 2026 Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night shifts only Shift Duration: 12-hour overnight shifts Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,290-$7,450 Patient Volume: Approximately 100 emergency medicine visits per day Job Requirements Board certified by ABEM Active physician license and eligibility to practice in Virginia ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Strong clinical judgment and the ability to perform in a fast-paced emergency department Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills Experience in high-acuity emergency medicine or hospital emergency care preferred Responsibilities Provide high-quality emergency care during overnight shifts Evaluate, diagnose, and stabilize patients with urgent and emergent conditions Work efficiently in a high-volume emergency department while maintaining excellent patient flow Collaborate with nurses, support staff, and consulting services to coordinate patient care Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the medical record Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions Apply now to join this locum tenens emergency medicine opportunity in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
