JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Marion, Virginia Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 44 patients per day Case Mix: Emergency Medicine procedures FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 44 beds EMR System: Epic Support Staff Available: Mid-level practitioners (NP/PA), RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine (ABMS) Licenses: Active VA Medical License and DEA with VA address DEA / CDS: Active DEA with schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM), NRP (if non-ABEM) Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM; new graduates acceptable with 3-month proctorship Other Qualifications: CME includes Preeclampsia; Case logs for last 2 years required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute conditions. Manage patient volume of approximately 44 patients per day in a 44-bed facility. Supervise and collaborate with mid-level providers (NP/PA) during 9-hour overlapping shifts. Perform emergency procedures as required, including but not limited to intubation, central line placement, and laceration repair. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
