Coverage Dates: November 25-27, 2026, with ongoing locum tenens coverage needs anticipated in 2027
Shift: Day shifts, 6:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Shift Duration: 12.5 hours
Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,270-$7,420
Department Volume: Approximately 40-60 patient visits per 24 hours; approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
Department Size: 13 beds
Trauma Level: Level IV
Team Structure: Physician coverage supported by two advanced practice clinicians during day-to-evening operations
Support Services: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Hospital Medicine, Telestroke, Tele-ICU, on-site helicopter access, laboratory, radiology, anesthesia, and operating room support
Emergency Medicine Physician Job Requirements Physician with at least 1 year of emergency medicine experience
Board certification is required
Active Wisconsin physician license or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure
Current ACLS and ATLS certifications
Ability to evaluate and treat emergency and urgent care patients across a broad range of conditions
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and consulting services
Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department and urgent care setting
Manage approximately 20 patient encounters during a typical emergency medicine shift
Perform emergency procedures and coordinate appropriate consultations, transfers, and admissions
Collaborate with advanced practice clinicians and the broader care team to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care
Utilize available specialty consultation, telemedicine, laboratory, radiology, surgical, orthopedic, and critical care resources
Document patient assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and disposition decisions accurately and promptly
