Clinical Role
Join an established Emergency Medicine team in Texas City, Texas, providing full-time locums coverage in a community emergency department. This ongoing opportunity offers day and night shifts with a broad mix of medical complaints and lower-acuity trauma while working alongside experienced nursing staff and on-call specialists.

Practice Setting:
Emergency Department Patient Volume:
Average daily census: 55-60 patientsApproximately 2 patients per hourOccasional higher-volume surges (8+ patients in one hour) Patient Population:
Adult Emergency Medicine Common Cases:
Chest painAbdominal painShortness of breathBasic traumaFallsMotor vehicle accidentsSports injuriesRare severe or penetrating trauma Clinical Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat Emergency Department patientsPerform required emergency proceduresManage medical and trauma-related complaintsProvide procedural sedationPerform airway managementStabilize critically ill patientsCollaborate with nursing staff and on-call specialistsProvide appropriate patient disposition and documentation Required Procedures
Including but not limited to:
IntubationProcedural sedationFracture reduction and splintingChest tube placementCPRLaceration repairIncision and drainageCentral line placement Support & Technology
Support Staff:
Nursing staffOn-call specialists Requirements
Emergency Medicine Residency Trained requiredABEM preferredStrong experienced providers may be considered without ABEM certification Credentialing
