Locums - Wildwood, Florida Emergency Medicine Openings
Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for long-term locums coverage in Wildwood, Florida. Multiple sites and shift options are available, with anticipated coverage needs lasting one to two years.
Assignment Details
Start date: ASAP
Anticipated assignment duration: 1-2 years
Orientation: Morning of the first shadow shift
Emergency privileges or temporary privileges may be available
Coverage may include multiple emergency department and freestanding emergency department locations
Schedule & Coverage
Most shifts are:
7:00 am-7:00 pm
7:00 pm-7:00 am
Two 8-hour shifts are also available each day
Patient census varies by location and shift
APP coverage varies based on location, shift, and time of day
Practice Setting & Case Mix
Emergency Department and Freestanding Emergency Department coverage
Freestanding emergency departments typically average approximately 2 patients per hour
Common FSED cases include:
ESI Level 3 patients
ESI Level 4 and 5 patients
Other locations primarily see ESI Level 3 patients, including:
Abdominal pain
Chest pain
Other general emergency medicine presentations
Locums physicians are unlikely to work in the main high-acuity section at certain sites unless specifically requested
Practice Model & Clinical Expectations
Proficiency in the full scope of emergency medicine care is required
Physicians must be comfortable independently evaluating and treating emergency department patients across varying acuity levels
Emergency Medicine residency program onsite
APP training program available
Procedures & Skills
Proficiency with emergency care procedures is required, including:
Central vascular access
Arterial line placement
Lumbar puncture
Intubation and airway management
Cardiac pacing
Orthopedic stabilization
Additional standard emergency medicine procedures
Support & Systems
APP coverage depending on location, shift, and time of day
Emergency Medicine residency program
APP training program
Requirements & Credentialing
Active Florida medical license required at time of submission
Emergency Medicine physicians:
Board Eligible following successful completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency, or Board Certified
Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians may be considered for Freestanding Emergency Department coverage only with:
At least 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience
Emergency privileges or temporary privileges may be available
