Job description

Practice emergency medicine in a hospital where doctors are trusted, nurses are highly valued, and collaboration matters. Beacon Emergency Veterinary Hospital is a veterinarian-owned, independently operated 24/7 emergency veterinary group with three hospitals across Tampa Bay. We have grown by building hospitals around excellent medicine, strong nursing support, advanced equipment, genuine mentorship, and direct access to leadership.

At Beacon, we are People-focused. Pet-driven. We believe excellent emergency medicine starts with supporting the people behind the pets, including our clients and our team. Our doctors are empowered to practice thoughtful medicine, continue developing their skills, take on challenging cases, and have a meaningful voice in the hospitals where they work.

We are currently looking for another veterinarian to join our Riverview or Land O’ Lakes team. We are open to experienced ER veterinarians, strong general practitioners looking to transition into emergency medicine, and motivated new graduates with the clinical foundation and drive to grow into strong emergency doctors.

What the Role Offers

Approximately 11 to 13 shifts per month, with scheduling built collaboratively around sustainability and work-life balance

Production-based compensation with above-industry earning potential

Strong nursing support and collaborative medicine

Direct access to ownership, our Medical Director, and hospital leadership

Monthly one-on-one meetings with the Medical Director focused on mentorship and professional development

Opportunities to continue developing skills in emergency surgery, critical care, ultrasound, endoscopy, and advanced procedures

Leadership and advancement opportunities as Beacon continues to grow

Relocation assistance available for the right candidate

A veterinarian-led environment where your feedback matters

Emergency Medicine at Beacon

Our doctors see a broad emergency and critical care caseload and have the equipment and team support needed to practice high-level medicine. Both Riverview and Land O’ Lakes are fully equipped 24/7 emergency hospitals offering:

Blood products, antivenom, and a fully stocked emergency pharmacy

Complete in-house laboratory with digital cytology

Digital radiography with board-certified radiologist interpretation

Ultrasound

Endoscopy

CT imaging with boarded radiologist interpretation

Fully equipped surgical suites with cautery, LigaSure, and TA/GA staplers

Collaboration with boarded specialists on advanced cases

Experienced nursing teams trained in emergency and critical care

Our hospitals also offer a strong surgical and procedural caseload. Doctors who enjoy emergency surgery, procedures, and critical care will have plenty of opportunity to use those skills, while doctors interested in developing them further will have support to do so.

Growth & Development

Beacon is committed to building long-term careers. We have successfully helped veterinarians grow in emergency medicine, surgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, ER workflow, and critical care, and mentorship is tailored to the individual doctor.

Experienced ER doctors have room to continue developing clinically and professionally. General practitioners transitioning into ER have the support to build confidence and new skills. Strong new graduates can receive meaningful mentorship while developing into capable, independent emergency clinicians.

As Beacon continues to grow, doctors interested in leadership also have opportunities to take on greater responsibility and help shape the future of our hospitals and organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Beacon invests in our doctors the way we expect our doctors to invest in their patients. Benefits include:

Production-based compensation with significant earning potential

Health, dental, and vision insurance

401(k) with 4% company match

Generous PTO

Paid parental leave

$3,500 annual CE allowance with travel support

AVMA, DEA, PLIT, and veterinary licensing fees covered
