Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Employment Partner for its Labor & Employment practice group in Hackensack, NJ. This role offers a leadership opportunity for an attorney with a robust background in labor and employment defense litigation. The candidate should possess strategic litigation experience, leadership skills, and a dedication to client service. Portable business is considered but not required.
Duties
Handle all aspects of labor and employment defense litigation from inception through resolution.
Manage and supervise attorneys and legal staff within a collaborative team environment.
Defend employers in employment matters, including wage and hour disputes, single-plaintiff and class actions, and discrimination claims.
Conduct and oversee appearances in Federal and State courts.
Represent clients in investigations and proceedings before the U.S. Department of Labor, EEOC, and state and local human rights agencies.
Provide strategic counseling and risk management advice on employment-related matters.
Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to practice group growth.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of employment litigation defense experience.
Significant experience handling wage and hour matters and employment class actions.
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and management experience.
Strong litigation, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience managing complex employment matters in both Federal and State courts.
Admission to practice in New Jersey required.
Portable business is welcomed but not required.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
