Job Summary and Qualifications

The EMS Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing a consistent, courteous, and timely care experience for patients transported by EMS to our facility. The responsibilities include greeting and recepting both the patient and EMS personnel in a dedicated area. The EMS Nurse Coordinator collaborates with the clinical nurse coordinator (CNC) to adequately plan for the arrival of inbound patients and manage through any EMS surges to achieve timely offloads. When not actively offloading EMS patients, the EMS Nurse Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the EMS lounge, maintaining the stroke care area, assisting clinical personnel in the care of patients, and other downtime duties. The EMS Nurse Coordinator will collaborate and communicate regularly with the EMS PPR Director on strategic initiatives and provide ideas/feedback to the EMS Growth Governance Council.

What qualifications you will need:

Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

(RN) Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse Diploma

Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital. Our hospital offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center. Research Psychiatric Center is a 95+ bed facility. We offer acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare.
