Job description
EMS Educator
nThe EMS Educator develops and implements all aspects of instruction for Paramedic and EMT programs within the MedEx organization including New Hire Orientation.
nTHE EMS EDUCATOR WILL:
nnnWork with the Director of Education in coordinating teaching responsibilities.
n
nnCreate lesson plans and assess student skills
n
nnProvide positive and timely feedback.
n
nnGrade quizzes, tests, projects, and homework assignments.
n
nnDesign/develop and effectively use testing instruments while upholding the class policy and procedure handbook
n
nnMentor students, proctors, and other instructors
n
nnAdhere to the course syllabus
n
nnInstruct additional courses as needed (American Heart CPR, ACLS, PALS, or NAEMT course offerings)
n
nnDemonstrate the mechanics of proper lifting, moving, CPR, and other job-related responsibilities for EMTs and Paramedics.
n

n nEDUCATION, LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS:
nnnSuccessful Completion of EMS Lead Instructor Program with current IDPH Lead Instructor license
n
nnState-licensed Paramedic (Preferred) or Nursing license
n
nnCPR Instructor (Preferred)
n
nnHighly desirable:
n
nnInstructor for ACLS, PALS, PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS
n
n nOTHER REQUIREMENTS:
nnnMust be able to perform all essential job functions.
n
nnMust complete a pre-employment screening
n
nnMust complete EMS System Entry
n
nnLead Instructor license must be in good standing with the EMS System & IDPH
n
